Maniac's Paradise Lost

By Popular Demand

MPL By Popular Demand - the goal is to pick something that fits the
category and will be the "most popular" answer. You score points based on
the number of entries that match yours. For example, if the category is
"Cats" and the responses were 7 for Persian, 3 for Calico and 1 for
Siamese, everyone who said Persian would get 7 points, Calico 3 and the
lone Siamese would score 1 point. The cumulative total over 10 rounds will
determine the overall winner. Anyone may enter at any point, starting with
an equivalent point total of the lowest cumulative score from the previous
round. If a person misses a round, they'll receive the minimum score from
the round added to their cumulative total. And, if you want to submit some
commentary with your answers, feel free to.

11) Conrad von Metzke: [no entry received] = 129 + 26 = 154

Highest possible score was 40 with Marc and Brendan making the score.

1 - Sherlock Holmes Villain: Moriarity was the obvious choice, being the
only "serial" villain in the tales. I'd hoped for at least one entry from
another evildoer, but no one took the bait.
2 - Superman Villain: On the other hand, Luther should have swept the
category, but a couple of others slipped.
3 - Star Trek Villain: This was a bit wide open, but I'd expected Khan
would be the #1 villain. I certainly didn't expect the Klingons to be in
first place as, in the later Star Trek series, they were friends (well,
most of the time). Romulans were baddies all along. On the other hand,
Moriarity could have appeared here as well.....
4 - Batman Villain: Myself, I'd have picked the Penguin or the Riddle.
However, the Joker was not a bad option (which many took).
5 - Star Wars Villain: OK, blindsided on this one. I'd have chosen Jabba -
evil through and through. Anakin/Darth was both a villian and an ally, so I
wouldn't have made it my first pick. No one for the Emperor?

Player Commentary:

General: [Lori] Does it have to be the last round????? Aww, c'mon, let's
start over again!!!! This is too much fun. By the way....if I win, what do
I get????? [WAY] Much praise and honor, little in the way of anything
substantial. [Lori] Thanks for all of your hard work, Andy. It's been
excellent. [WAY] You are most welcome.
[Marc] Thanks for a great game. [WAY] Glad to!

1 - Sherlock Holmes Villain: [Marc] In the end he beat Holmes as they both
go over the waterfall. Who else is even in the running (the Hound of the
   Baskervilles?)
2 - Superman Villain: [Marc] Great in comic books and I can never forget
Gene Hackman playing Luther in the first movie.
3 - Star Trek Villain: [Fred] Sorry, I haven't seen an episode of Star Trek
in years. Just can't think of the name of a villain in it. [Marc] Now it
gets much more difficult. Klingons or Romulans? I guess if the crowd is
younger it could be the Borg. But I'm a traditionalist and the baddest of
the bad in the original series were the Klingons.
4 - Batman Villain: [Tom] Robin, not really, but I'm drawing a blank on the
villain. There's one I want, just can't come up with the name at the
moment. [Marc] Only 4 really come to mind (Joker, Penguin, Riddle and
Catwoman). The Joker was always my favorite and besides who would scare you
more Jack Nicholson as the Joker or Danny DeVito as the Penguin? Isn't that
   a clear cut answer?
5 - Star Wars Villain: [Marc] It could be the Emperor but I think we all
have fond memories of Lord Vader. (I find your lack of faith disturbing).
For anyone who doesn't pick Vader, you can always apologize later (Apology
accepted.) Besides, it was the voice of God playing him!

Player Commentary on Previous Rounds:

[Brendan] Medical Worker: Huh! Noyl the doctor guesses the doctor. The rest
guess nurse. Probably too many 'carry on' films under your belts! Or that
'nurses of the 4077th' porn flick....	Hospital: Mayo? Never heard of it..
Nor the other one. Mayo is something you put on a salad here.

Thanks All!
