Round 8

a word game in ten rounds

Every turn I give you five categories.   Send me one entry in each category.   In each category, you score one point for every person sending the same entry as you.   If you submit the only occurrence of your entry, you score one point.   Please work alone.   There will be ten rounds.

Anyone may join at any time.   Anyone joining after the first round will start with the lowest score as of the prior round.   Anyone missing a round will be given the lowest score of the missed round.

The theoretical maximum possible score was 120.  This round's actual maximum possible score was 66, achieved by Andrew York.

Having just read the paper when I assigned categories last time, and being in a blue funk over the government's assault on our civil liberties and international reputation, all I could think of was intrusive "security" at airports. The judicial section of courthouses has become as bad with plate glass and bank teller drawers everywhere. As John noted, security at malls, or any large store, is old hat. I threw in the other places for variety and to see what people would say. Sounds like you all aren't as paranoid as I seem to be... Thanks to David C. for those essential items of information. Sorry you didn't score better with them.

Mall	Stores the big winner, here, of course. That is, if they have enough shoppers...

City Hall	The mayor and politicians lead with three?! What does this say about our relationships with local government?

	Kevin says, "I also thought of lawyers but who wants to give them notice" Gag! Two of us did...
	Ellissa says, "Incompetent lazy folks pretending to be busy."
Park	Most of us seem to think trees essential to a park. I'd agree, but also add that we should have more trees elsewhere. Glad to see, or rather, not see, "security" mentioned in this one. When "they" start spying on us in our parks, we'll know that it's too late.

Airport	"Airplanes" by any other name (and you lot used several) would fly as high. Everything else is incidental. Not what I expected, but nevertheless, ok by me.

Library	Towards the end there, I was kinda hoping you'd all agree on at least one category. Two of you dissappointed me. Tsk!
