With a building permit impending to hand, and serious construction ahead, there may be ramifications for the 'zine. I will try to stick to a six weekly schedule, but I'm going to need your help. Since 'zine production goes smoother and faster when I have complete orders for all games, I will endeavor to send reminder notices to players who don't have orders in by about a week before the deadline. I will also endeavor to get the due date correct; however, the date in the 'zine is always the correct deadline, regardless of what those e-mail reminders may say. When you receive one of those, please send in your orders promptly. If further negotiations induce you to change your orders (as if three to four weeks with game report in hand and e-mail available weren't enough), be my guest; I always accept order changes up until a game is adjudicated.
Outside of the games, on the other hand, do not be too surprised if appearance of other features, such as In My Neighborhood, Off the Map, or even the letter cols is spotty over the next year or two. If I'm really pressed, I may simply put the games out without the more time-consuming stuff.
In the gripping hand, if you want to send me some reading material to fill out the zine, comparable to Brent's The View From Up Here, I'll include it as long as there is room. There will always be room as long as we don't exceed six sheets of paper, which works out to 24 pages, including cover and mailer (that's the back cover). Feel free to submit artwork (I use the term loosely) as potential covers. I do not have a backlog of covers currently, so as long as any submission fits my criteria, I'll most likely use it.
What, you ask, are my criteria? Firstly, it has to strike my fancy, at least a glancing blow. Secondly, it must be taller than it is wide. It doesn't have to fill the cover below the title, but I usually try. Pen and ink drawings get preference; no color for the duration as color covers take babysitting with my printer which equates to time. For themes, go back and review past covers. Repeats not allowed, but similar subject matter is.
Please send any submissions via e-mail. I can deal with most graphics formats. Simple text files for reading material is easiest to deal with at both ends.
Enjoy the zine!
