Case of Plessy vs. Ferguson which set the precedence of "separate but equal" in America. This said the Blacks and Whites did not have to use facilities together if there was a separate facility for each race.

Documents and photographs related to Davis vs. School Board of Prince Edward County, Virginia. This was a case in 1951 which preceded Brown vs. Board of Education. A group of students attempted to have the Black school improved to match the White school nearby. With the help of the NAACP, the school district was sued for the end of segregated schools. This case eventually was joined with Brown vs. Board of Education.
