Go about about a mile, you will see the Fairmount Shell Station ahead on the right. Just before the Shell Station is the Fairmount Restaurant on the right. The Walk Box is to the right, inside the door. If by chance you are driving east on Highway 101, coming from the west, after you pass the turnoff to the airport, look for the Shell Station on your left. The Fairmount Restaurant is just past the station on the left.</div> <bR> <div> <B>YOU MUST DRIVE 19 MI. TO THE TRAIL PARKING TO BEGIN THIS WALK.</B></div> <bR> <div> <B>ROUTE:  </B>This trail offers a gentle stroll along Lake Crescent's north shore. Mostly following the old abandoned railroad grade, it skirts two tunnels, which are dangerous to enter. There are spectacular  views of Lake Crescent, Storm King Mountain and a host of other landmarks. It is an "out and back" walk, but one gets an entirely different picture upon return.
